Privacy Policy

This page explains what happens to data when you visit this site. It is a personal blog, not a business, and it is kept deliberately simple.

Who runs this site

This site is pablopezasblog.com, a personal blog written and maintained by Pablo López (A Coruña, Spain). For anything related to this policy or to your data, write to contact@pablopezasblog.com . For the purposes of the GDPR, I am the data controller for the processing described here.

What data I collect

I do not run user accounts, comment forms, contact forms or a newsletter, so I never ask you for your name, email address or any other personal detail. The only data that moves is what third-party scripts collect automatically, and what the web host records in its ordinary server logs (IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested, timestamp). Those logs are kept by the host for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies and local storage

A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store so it can recognise your browser on a later request. This site sets one value of its own: a cookie-consent key in your browser’s local storage that records whether you accepted or rejected the cookie banner, so you are not asked again on every page. You can clear it at any time from your browser settings.

Everything else below is set by Google.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics 4 to see roughly how many people read which posts. The Analytics script is not loaded when the page opens. It only loads after you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you click Reject, or simply ignore the banner, the Analytics script is never added to the page and no Analytics cookies are set. Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site shows ads served through Google AdSense. In connection with those ads:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites.
• Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings .
• You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info/choices (also reachable at www.aboutads.info/choices ).

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you are also shown Google’s certified consent message before personalised ads are served, and your choice there is respected.

Legal basis and your rights

Where processing depends on your agreement — analytics and personalised advertising — the legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), given through the cookie banner and Google’s consent message, and withdrawable at any time by rejecting the banner or changing the ad settings linked above.

Under the GDPR you have the right to request access to your personal data, and its rectification or erasure; to request restriction of processing or to object to it; and to data portability. To exercise any of these, email contact@pablopezasblog.com . You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish supervisory authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (AEPD) — www.aepd.es .

Posts link to other websites and sometimes embed content from third parties (for example YouTube videos). Once you follow a link or interact with an embed, that site’s own privacy policy applies, not this one.
